My parenting bucket list

Do you ever feel like your kids are growing up in the blink of an eye?

Sometimes I feel like the days seem long but the years are short.  Summer just ended for us and this year I have a second grader and a kindergartner.  Every year I wonder if we are spending our time doing things that matter, making memories that my kids will cherish. I wonder if I am raising decent human beings and what lessons I want them to take with them, as they try to navigate life.

My husband and I were talking and decided maybe we should make a bucket list, to help ensure we are doing all the things we would like with our children.

Here are just a few things on our list:

My parenting Bucket List | East Valley Moms Blog

  • Take the kids on a Disney cruise
  • Go to Disney world
  • Rent an RV and take a road trip down the coast
  • Go to Hawaii
  • Explore Arizona
  • Teach them to be self sufficient
    • some things included in this would be: changing a tire, doing chores, hunting and fishing to name a few
  • Teach them to be kind and inclusive
  • Reiterate the importance of families-attend family reunions and go on vacations together
  • Make every summer count
  • Spend quality time with each kid one on one

I’m sure as our kids grow up we will add more to our bucket list.  It is something that is ever changing and evolving.  For now, it is a nice guide and it helps to keep us on the same page.
