Wave your patriotic flag high this year with some hot looks for the 4th of July Celebrations! IMG_5774edit

The main summer holiday is quickly approaching, and we want our readers to rock the most fashionable patriotic looks around town! Some general ideas to get you red, white & blue ready include:

-CHAMBRAY! From tops, short or rompers-there are so many great options this summer at any price point. We love this & this.

-SUNNIES! No better way to update a wardrobe than with a fun pair of sunglasses. Super cheesy that your kids will love, or a more every day pair

-ACCESSORY: Use a flag scarf as a bathing suit coverup or to keep warm inside. Do a blue statement necklace with a dress from your closet. Grab a new tote to head to splash pad with.

And now, more specifically, we’ve listed some popular places that our readers jaunt to each Independence Day. Also, in case you missed here, here is our comprehensive guide on things to do on the 4th!

4th at the Lake: If you are lucky enough to be heading out on the water to celebrate this 4th, let’s talk outfits! We’d do a festive one piece suit, board shorts, and a great trucker hat! Lots of sunscreen and some American flag flipflops will complete your look for a day of waterskiing and tubing.

Birkenstocks

Old Fashioned Backyard BBQ: This is the time of the summer where we are not yet totally o v e r the heat yet, so we cherish the opportunity to sweat it out in our backyards with friends and family. Think grilling some burgers, slicing watermelon for the kids, and late night s’mores before lighting some sparklers. We’d suggest a cute tank top, cut off shorts, and the shoe of Summer 2016- Birkenstocks! Since you’ll be home, this is also a great time to rock a red lip since touchups can easily be made inside. Done.

Festive Manicure

Cozy at the Cabin in the Mountains: Escaping the heat by heading up North? A weekend at the cabin sounds amazing after these record heats we’ve been having! Grab a festive manicure before packing the car. We would totally throw in our overnight bags some casual tshirts, jean shorts, and flannels! It’s a great time for a ride on the ATV, baking cookies with the windows open, and playing board games with the kids. You may even need a sweatshirt to end the night!

Preppy Look

Preppy Look for the Country Club: Maybe you are heading to the Country Club or Health Club for the day. Golf, tennis, or swimming laps? You’ll need a most appropriate ensemble for a day mingling with the crowd. Enter our preppy look. There’s nothing more Americana than a crisp white shirt and plaid shorts! We’d put on some Sperry sneakers and perfectly neutral nail polish.

Blue Sunnies

Stylish Staycation in Red, White & Blue: The 4th of July is a fantastic time to check-in to one of the Valley’s fabulous resorts. Here’s a great post of ours that details where to stay! They have tons of activities for the kids, special holiday menus and beautiful pools to swim all day & night in! You’ll most likely be lounging poolside the majority of your stay. Here’s the place to rock a gorgeous cover-up, killer bikini and stylish blue sunnies. Don’t forget a giant beach tote (we have this & LOVE IT!) with lots of snacks, sunscreen, and pool toys!
