What, I Think, Caused My Weight Gain

0

I’ve always been someone with a tinier body frame, with a decent metabolism. I danced competitively for nearly 15 years, and continuously work out. I can say I still work out, and eat a plant-based diet. Although, I do tend to have a sugar tooth. But the past few months my weight has increased, with no signs of stopping. So what caused my weight gain?

I’m frustrated to say the least, and I do think I need to cut back on the sugar and up my gym exercise to keep my weight gain in check. However, the one thing I currently CANNOT change, is taking my medication.

Some anti-depressants and birth control have a correlation and link to weight gain and about 3 months ago we decided to up my anti-depressant ever so slightly, and maybe that tiny bit could be the trigger. BUT I also have been prescribed birth control for the past 9 months to help control my PCOs (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome).

I guess I can’t exactly say that my medication CAUSED my weight gain; sure they are a lot of different factors. I definitely see a correlation however, and possibly will look into switching my medications.

I’m about 10 lbs up from where I normally am, most of which is in my hips, legs, and booty so I’m not complaining THAT much.

If anyone else reading has had this happen I would love to read about your experience in the comments!
