Last Minute Gas Station Stocking Stuffers

Over the last few years since having kids, my husband and I have started a tradition of giving each other stocking stuffers in lieu of larger gifts. With the cost of travel and presents for kids and extended family, it adds up fast. We wanted to still shower each other with gifts, but do so in a way that was more cost-friendly and creative.

We each get just $25 to fill a stocking. This means that we need to be creative and make that small amount of money go a long way, while still being thoughtful with finding something the other person will truly enjoy.

This year has been a busy one for us as my husband has been finishing up nursing school and I’ve been staying home with two little ones (3 ½ and 5 months) while running a small business. I rarely have time to get out of the house by myself to run errands, so Christmas shopping is usually done with the husband and kids in tow.

The other day, I ran out of the house by myself (woohoo!) to fill the car up with gas. I ran inside to get a drink, and after browsing around, I decided to get my husband’s stocking checked off my list! I know – from a gas station!?

For those of you who need last minute stocking stuffer ideas, go “run an errand” and cross it off your list!

I’m excited for him to open his stocking, and even more excited to see his reaction when he finds out everything is from a gas station. You’d never know!
