Experience the Magic

As a parent, I often discuss the decision to opt for experiences over things. It is something my husband and I have enjoyed. We love the fun times and memories it brings. Is it hard sometimes to say no to extra toys or things we feel we ‘need’? Absolutely. However, our recent trip to Disneyland reassured us that experiences produce more enjoyment than tangible items.

Let me start off by saying, I envisioned going to Disneyland with just my husband on a couple’s trip to be giant kids. The thought of bringing a stroller and trying to balance snack time with nap time wasn’t in my version of this fairy-tale. Hubby wanted to write a different story. He wanted to bring our daughter and after a lot of convincing, I finally gave into the idea.

I am not often wrong, but my husband wins this time. (Shhhhh don’t tell him!) Bringing our 21 month old daughter to Disneyland was the best thing ever!Experience the Magic | East Valley Moms Blog

We will always remember this trip with our girl. She looks at everything with such awe and amazement. People talk all the time about the magic of Disney and all that jazz. In this case, it is real my friends! And it is some super magic because I’m feeling major withdrawals after coming home.

The magic is real my friends!

Seeing her squeal the first time she saw Mickey Mouse has to be the cutest thing on this planet. And riding rides with an almost two year old? AMAZING! She signs ‘more please’ at the end of each one which leads my husband and I to tell her we can definitely do it again! We will gladly ride the teacups all day long if it means seeing her smile from ear to ear.

Oh, and as if seeing her react to everything around her wasn’t enough, hearing her tell us about her trip to ‘dis-nee-yan’ is even better. She will gladly tell you all about her favorite ride ‘baby elephants’ AKA Dumbo! She also wears her Mickey ears around the house yelling ‘Miska mouska Mickey Mouse’!Experience the Magic | East Valley Moms Blog

Disneyland will always be a fond memory for this little family. Hopefully, this isn’t the last of our Disney adventures because I already look forward to her reactions as she grows and comprehends more of what’s going on. But nothing can take the place of seeing her eyes light up at the magic of these first moments.

And nothing beats the pure joy my husband and I feel in our hearts watching our little one experience Disney as a toddler. After all, Disneyland is the happiest place on Earth.
