Dear Husband,
I see you.
I see you in the morning when you wake up. Your long eyelashes fight to stay open when our sweet girl comes rushing in to hug you. I know you’d kill for 5 more minutes of sleep but also know the moments you spend with her each day are priceless.
I see you when you walk in the door at night. You’re tired from the day’s work but want to give your all for your family to play airplane and help with bedtime. Instead of putting your feet up to watch hockey you chase our toddler around the kitchen island and listen to her endless giggles.
I see you when you make breakfast on Saturdays. Your hands are carefully making up the parts to your famous egg sandwiches. You measure each ingredient and take note of how I like my eggs cooked as if I’ve changed my mind after all these years.
I see you when you pray, especially on Sundays. Your head bowing low, always taking time to worship in His name. I can see our daughter looking to you as she makes the sign of the cross just like her daddy does. You’ve received a fresh start to another week, ready to begin again and work hard in all that you do.
Sometimes I don’t think you realize I notice but I do. I see you working hard, loving your family and setting the example of what an amazing husband and father should be. I see you. And I love you more than words could ever explain.
