Date Night and Outfit Inspiration

My husband work nights a lot and we have a hard time squeezing in date nights. We tend to book a sitter when our friends are all getting together. But rarely do we plan a night out for just the two of us. (Although we do squeeze in a lunch here and there).

Date Night and Outfit Inspiration

This year, we will be celebrating our 10-year anniversary. As we approach that milestone, I thought it was a good time to re-prioritize “us” time. For Christmas, I gave my husband a year of dates: 12 cards, each with an idea for a date in the coming year. The idea is that each month he will choose a date from the cards. The only dates already set are a comedy show I bought tickets for as part of his gift, and a music festival he got for my Christmas gift. The items themselves may not be the most revolutionary, but the important thing is that we’re putting a focus on one-on-one time together.

What to Wear

Now that we have some ideas to work with, the next step is to plan my date night outfits! I’m a dress-for-comfort kind of girl, but I think you can still find cute things and still be comfy. Here is some of my inspiration for our upcoming dates!

Versatile dress

This Treasure & Bond Side Ruched Body-Con dress is currently hanging in my closet and I can’t wait to wear it.

Flirty jumpsuit

I love a good jumpsuit, and this denim one is fun and flirty. Pants are more practical than a dress for a date that might take you to a spring training game, or bowling or Top Golf, but this way you can still feel dressed up.

Festival wear

While one-pieces are the easiest, for a music festival date, I am looking at some other options. Maybe distressed denim shorts and a tank top, or maybe this chambray maxi skirt (pockets!) with a T-shirt or a bodysuit and some Birkenstocks

Whether you’re a dress up, or casual make time for a date night, and have some fun!
