When you get over 60 women from a network of parenting websites together for a conference, you are going to get a lot of camaraderie and a really great time. Add to that a beautiful hotel with amazing views and you get an even greater time! Last October, I had the opportunity to attend the City Moms Blog’s Network Sister Site Conference in Dallas. The Omni hotel provided accommodations for over 60 women (a challenge in and of itself, I am sure).

SLEEP

I arrived very late on Friday evening (er, Saturday morning) and the front desk personnel were as upbeat and friendly as if it were regular daytime hours. Maybe that is why they were ranked “Highest in Guest Satisfaction Among Upper Upscale Hotel Chains” by the J.D. Power 2015 North American Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study℠

As I stumbled up to my room in a tired stuper, I opened the door to find a tray with goodies and a note from the staff welcoming me (it’s the little touches like that which is remembered even months after a stay)! ry=480The bed was uber comfy and the climate in the room was perfect! The Omni Dallas is built to meet the U.S. Green Building Council LEED Gold Certification standards which is a fancy way of saying they are environmentally aware and have energy efficient features like a key card to activate the lights. The room also featured televisions in the bathroom mirrors and motion activated night lights (no toe stubs when getting up in the middle of the night to pee).

WORK

During my stay, I was able to experience a multitude of conference/meeting rooms. The amenities at the Omni Dallas are first class and the hotel decor is unsurpassed. There are large glass chandeliers hanging in the lobby that are like pieces of art! The views looking out at the downtown skyline are something in and of themselves. The lobby uses bright colors and contemporary finishes such as glass mixed with wood and stone. There are curved walls and fire glass sitting areas. The rooms were really spacious and there were plenty of establishments to eat from fine dining to sports bars and everything in between with the multiple eateries.

PLAY

There wasn’t a ton of downtime during my stay because we were filled with conference goodness but I was able to sneak away to the state-of-the-art exercise facility (which had equipment that was better than my membership gym). In addition to being clean and spacious, the complimentary facility offered stunning views and 24-hour access.Image

The gift shop at the hotel offered the cutest items that I have ever seen in a gift shop. It was adorned with items from little what-nots to pieces of fine art. If fitness center’s and gift shops aren’t your thing, the Omni Dallas offers an infinity pool (heated year round) complete with cabanas and fire pits as well as Mokara Salon and spa, a full service spa with a range of services.

EAT

When it comes to great food and drinks at the Omni Dallas, there is no shortage of variety and good eats! While during the conference, I mostly noshed on food provided by the hotel, I was able to sneak away and enjoy some drinks from The Owner’s Box (which boasts a multitude of VERY large screens as well as televisions in their booths) and the 44 Farms 72 Hour Short Rib with three cheese mac & house barbeque sauce from Texas Spice…..delish!!! In addition, the Omni Dallas has several other dining establishments including Bob’s Steak and Chop House, Uptown Terrace, and Morsel’s. There are also many other places located just steps away on Lamar.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Omni Dallas. With its proximity to shopping, entertainment, as well as its relaxation opportunities, it is the perfect place to enjoy a stay with family, with friends, or as a romantic getaway.
