January in the east valley

January events | East Valley Mom's Blog

The holidays are over and the kids are back to school! Why don’t you take a moment and take a nice deep breath. From my own experience, and from what I’ve heard from others, 2014 was a rough year. Hopefully we can all take this time to start anew and make 2015 a year to remember (for good reasons). I know for me one of the things I would like to work on is living more in the moment. While I strongly believe it’s important to have moments in the day when I need to “check out” I also realize that there are moments that I need to be fully “present”. Anyway, do you guys realize the Super Bowl is coming in 4 weeks? I know it’s on the other side of the city, but it’s so close so be on the lookout for any fun events we should know about.

Phoenix Suns Schedule

January 7-11. Disney on Ice at the US Airways Center.

Now-January 11. Phoenix Zoo Lights are still going in case you missed it.

January 10. 6th Annual Run, Walk, and Roll 5k/10k. Located at the Mesa Riverview park.

January 13-18. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the ASU Gammage.

January 15. Alex Boye African twist on American pop at the Mesa Arts Center.

January 18. P.F. Chang’s Rock n Roll Marathon. This might be fun to just walk around the day of even if you don’t know anyone running.

January 18. African Children’s Choir. Located at the Chandler Center for the Arts.

January 23-25. Arizona Balloon Classic in Gilbert.

January 24. Eric Church at the US Airways Center.

**January 24-February 1. NFL Experience. You guys, this looks so fun if you have kids old enough to enjoy it (my kids aren’t old enough otherwise I would totally go). At the Phoenix Convention Center they set up an interactive theme park based on football. Tickets go on sale January 10. Think of how much your sport loving son or daughter would LOVE this!!

January 25. So You Think You Can Dance- Live Tour at the Comerica Theater.

January 26-Feb 2. Phoenix Open (professional golf tournament for those of you who don’t know what that is, no shame).

January 29. Enrique Iglesias at the US Airways Center.

January 30. Super Bowl Gospel Celebration at the ASU Gammage.

January 30. Kevin Hart at the Comerica Theater.

January 31. CBS Radio’s the Night Before with Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Florida Georgia Line, and Dee Jay Silver at the US Airways Center.

What are some things you’d like to work on this year? Do you find yourself “checking out” more than you’d like to? What do you have going on this month that we should all know about? Who’s ready for the Super Bowl?!?!
