How to Create a Margarita Bar

0

National Margarita Day 2017 is February 22nd! That’s right! Since it is a Wednesday night and many of us need to get up and go to work the next day going out to celebrate may not be in the cards. So, I created a simple Margarita Bar to enjoy at home! Stay with me for some tips, recipes, and decor ideas.

First, find your margarita recipe(s). I recommend making your mixes from scratch. Let’s be honest, do you really know what goes into making that mix bright green?? I don’t, so I set out to find some quick recipes that I could make to at home. While searching endlessly on Pinterest I realized that I wanted to make 3 very different flavored margaritas, which just one of them being the traditional flavor. My 3 picks ended up being:

  1. Margarita Mix and Skinny Margarita from one of our very own contributors Nicole with The Marvelous Misadventures of a Foodie
  2. Fresh Peach Margarita from Living Loving Paleo
  3. Juicy Vanilla Pear Margarita from Best Friends for Frosting

Since mason jars seem to be a staple at my house I brought out all the different sizes I could find to add different heights to my Margarita Bar. I also loved using them so you can see all the bright colors of the mixes and garnishes. Next, I grabbed a tray and cake stand to add additional height and visual appeal. Stocked the Bar with all the different mixes, salt and alcohols to complete each drink. Set out shot glasses and a cocktail shaker to encourage precision measuring and mixing 😉

Next, on to making signs and setting out the glasses. I didn’t have any margarita glasses, so I just stayed with my theme of mason jars. Lastly, I made the sign! I am just starting to work on improving on my handwriting for projects such as this. I again, scrolled through Pinterest to find different styles of writing and meshed them together to get the sign below. My husband suggested the lime and I think that was a nice touch!

Here is the completed Margarita Bar. Quick and easy to set up and my guests will be impressed!
