Do your hands make you look older than you are? If the answer is yes, we have the solution.
It is drilled into our heads that we must take care of our skin. We must wear sunscreen, sun hats, and always stay out of the sun when possible. We don’t, however, hear too much about how to protect our hands. Our hands are a focal point for our day to day activities. We want to give you some options to make your hands healthier looking.
It’s important to take care of your hands daily. Selecting the right cream is the key to that care. A lotion doesn’t have the same amount of moisture that a cream does. Added moisture will plump the skin and make the hands look more youthful. Selecting a cream with aloe, shea butter, or olive oil will combat dryness and lock in moisture. Start the day with cream and reapply as needed throughout the day. Be sure to apply cream at bedtime so skin can soak up the moisture.
We don’t have to live with hands that look aged. There are things in our kitchen that we can use to combat aging on our hands. Here is the secret mix to beautiful, healthy looking hands.
1 cup granulated sugar
¼ cup coconut or olive oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract or 1 squeezed lemon
Combine all ingredients into a plastic bowl and add more oil per your liking. Store the mixture in a mason jar for later use.
Use this mixture once a week by rubbing a small amount all over your hands. It’s also handy elbows or other rough spots. Rinse off and slather hands with your favorite cream. This homemade mixture will slough away dead skin and reveal younger looking hands.
We go to the dentist and doctor at least once a year. Be sure to include a trip to a dermatologist too! There is no reason to skip getting our skin checked. It’s the largest organ we have.
Protecting your hands and keeping them young looking doesn’t have to be a chore. A few simple steps can make a huge difference in keeping your hands looking as young as you feel.
