Our family loves Costco. I mean, who doesn’t? From a great selection of fresh ORGANIC produce to yummy baked goods, an AMAZING selection of gifts for the holidays and not to mention all the special featured products they have in-store for road shows, what’s not to love? I love it even more because of our Costco Mom Hour event!
This week we are on a long road trip and road trips automatically mean bring ALL the snacks. I wouldn’t dare be caught in the car with three hungry kids! We are also hitting up Disneyland and the beach which also means super expensive snacks (even though you can’t deny their churros are amazing!)
Before hitting the road, we hit up our favorite Costco to stock up to reduce the in-line or car hangry-ness!
*Organic Applesauce: these are a family-favorite. Perfect for lunches and road trips, everyone from babies to adults love these. I even use them on a day I need to fill some of my macros and don’t feel like chewing an apple! (delicious side note: mix some in your oatmeal with a sprinkle of cinnamon in the mornings!)
*Granola Bars: I tend to stay away from granola bars since I have a severe nut allergy and can’t take any chances but my kids love these! Soft & chewy with the ideal number of chocolate chips is how my 6 year old describes them!
*Organic fruit snacks: Is there even a better snack for when you are standing in a long theme park line? We don’t think so! These just hit the shelves at Costco last week so be sure to check them out!
*Bottled water: We live in AZ and that means you have to drink tons of water. Buying bottles in gas stations or theme parks is simply not cost effective.
*Organic chocolate milk: Most hotels do not offer you a mini fridge for your room but with the off the shelf boxed organic chocolate milk you don’t have to worry! These are great for the car, lunch, dinner-almost anytime! Since they are off the shelf you don’t have to worry about keeping them cold!
*Organic juice boxes: Another smart option with so many uses are the organic juice boxes! Skip the sugar laden soda with an option with less sugar!
Other road trip and vacation necessities we picked up included toilet paper (you just never know), moist towlette wipes, paper towels and wine. The wine stayed at home for post-vacation unwinding!
I can’t forget to mention one of the BEST things about Costco and vital to any road trip. Costco Gas! Most major cities have one if not several warehouse locations and since we went from Arizona to California, you can bet we stopped at Costco to fill up!
