Up Up Up is a simple and fun story, packed full of charming illustrations depicting each animal's journey up to the 10th floor to attend a birthday party. A great read for any toddler or child!

There’s no shortage of children’s books in our house – we read handfuls of them daily, so I was delighted to get a copy of Up Up Up to read with my son, Archer.

Summary of Up Up Up by Phoebe Fox, Illustrated by Michael Hale

“When Mouse, Frog, Duck, Snake, Dog, Chimp, Seal, Sheep, and Bear are invited to a birthday party on the 10th floor, the elevator seems to be the best way up, up up.

This humorous story told mostly in pictures will delight the youngest of readers and adults alike.”

We found Up  Up Up to be a simple and fun story, packed full of charming illustrations depicting each animal’s journey up to the 10th floor to attend a birthday party. Archer loves animals (and making animal sounds!)  so each turn of the page is met with amusement and giggles, especially as at the elevator gets more and more crowded.  It is the perfect way to help toddlers recognize animals and make their sounds – and helped us explore a few new ones like the seal. After a few bed time readings he started to jump in when we got to “up, up, up” to say it along with us.

This book is perfect for parents to read to toddlers and you children (Bonus: its super simple to read!) but also great for new readers and children wanting more independence with books. I especially love that the illustrations offer more to the story than just the words – it is perfect for asking questions about what is going on in the scene or what could happen next.
