Have you jumped in to the chalkboard craze yet? You know what I am talking about, right? The chalkboard walls, the chalkboard frames, chalkboard furniture…you name it, Pinterest has it!

I have always loved the idea of chalkboards. You can constantly have new art around your home when you decorate with chalkboards. I have yet to try all the different chalkboard paints, but I have discovered something even easier! Here is a little craft that I think it so much fun and can be done to any frame you already own in your home.

Here is what you need for this project.

Frames2

Any picture frame- I used little frames I found in the $1 section at Michael’s.

Chalkboard Vinyl

Chalk {or chalk pens, which I LOVE}

To start, remove the glass from your frame.

Cut the vinyl to fit the glass in your frames.

Remove the backing on the vinyl and place on the glass.

Put the glass back in your frame, and you are done!!!

Now you can draw on your new chalkboard frame to your hearts content. Draw some pumpkins for Halloween, write an inspirational quote, jot down your favorite Bible verse, put a welcome message on it when you have guests over, use it as place settings for Thanksgiving, have your child hold it with their age written down for birthday pictures, use it as a pregnancy announcement…the possibilities are endless. And the best part is, your picture frame will not be ruined. If you change your mind and want your frame to be a frame again, just remove the vinyl and your frame is as good as new.

So go ahead and chalk it up! You will have so much fun and a custom new piece of decor in your home.

This quick and easy craft is sure to make a statement in your home this holiday season!
